Dear students,
Alma Mater Europaea – European Centre Maribor (AME - ECM) connects professors
from universities and institutions of Central Europe, sharing their valuable knowledge and
experiences with our students with the intention to provide them with excellent skills, needed
for establishing their professional path in the economy and society.
AME - ECM was established with help of the economy, local communities and national
institutions with the intention to develop higher education study programmes that are new,
show shortage of workforce on domestic and international markets; are modern and Europe-
oriented. We thus developed professions that will be able to solve complex issues from
the economy, ecology, intercultural relations and health. The students are provided with
high quality partnerships, international exchange and internships at home and abroad with
selected mentors.
State-of-the-art technology as well as cooperation of strategic partners enables all types of
study; full and part-time, as well as distance learning and e-classrooms. The international
network of partner universities provides multi-lateral cooperation for all; students, teachers,
researchers. Study programmes are comparable, so are diplomas, all following the principles
of Bologna declaration. All of the above enables easier transfers and continuation of studies
at other domestic and international universities.
Within the network Alma Mater Europaea, founded by the European Academy of Sciences
and Arts from Salzburg, we cooperate with over 250 academic teachers and 40 academic
institutions from 12 countries in the Danube region, whereas the network of the European
Academy of Sciences and Arts Salzburg connects over 1400 scientists, professors, artists
and musicians, including 28 Nobel Prize Winners and Pope Benedikt XVI.
We are looking forward to seeing you within our student community. Welcome!
Prof. dr. Ludvik Toplak
President, Alma Mater Europaea – European Center Maribor
Vice-Rector of Alma Mater Europaea
